Travis Lilly and the Amazing Corset

Hello again! I simply had to interrupt the Ladies’ adventures once again to tell you about something truly special. Several weeks ago the amazing Travis Lilly of Lilly’s Workshop sent the ladies a custom-made corset. It was jaw dropping to say the least. Even though it was made for the specific measurements of one person, we all had to get our turn cinching it up! I wanted to take this week to show you some gorgeous pictures of this corset and encourage you to go get one of your own. These were taken by our fabulous photographer during our last shoot.

So until next time!

All In a Hard Day’s Work

Oh my it has been so very long since our dear Archivist has titillated you with a treasure from the trunk. Never fear! We have oh so many more adventures to share with you. In the mean time we have been very busy working on our manuscript; with two chapters complete and a third on the way, we are well on our way to meeting our spring publication goals.

I thought I would take a couple of minutes to feature a couple of our behind the scenes ladies. Both of them are integral to our project and indispensable in so many ways. I thought  I would introduce you to our wonderful photographer Jessica who does the most amazing things with the human figure, and her stupendous assistant Jeanette who not only wrangles the animals and fetches ladders but also knits up many of our patterns for testing.

If you are looking for a bit more substance from the ladies head over to The Age of Steam and take a look at our guest post last week on textile arts and the Victorian ladies. We are lucky to have Blue Stocking-Reads compose this great post on our behalf.

See you all very soon!

Photo Shoot Update

So a few weeks ago we got down to business and photographed two whole chapters of the books! I thought I would interject here and give you all some lovely teaser pictures from the shoots. So here it is! More on the exciting mathamatical adventure next week. Enjoy!

The Ladies of Mischief

We Made it!

We made it to the end of our kickstarter and with a huge amount, almost 150% over our original goal! You guys have no idea how much we appreciate this. Your support has been overwhelming and we all thank you more then we can express here. So you’re probably wondering: what happens next? I’m so glad you asked! The book is well on its way with virtually all of the sample yarn having arrived from our amazing dyer team. Patterns are being test knit now (if you’re interested in helping us to test knit drop me a line), and costumes are being sewn. We plan to start photography shoots early next month including a shoot on the wonderful Lady Washington tall ship from Pirates of the Caribbean, and some antique trains.
If you would like to keep up with us all over the internet check out these links.  Lots of goodies there for you.

Once again thank you so much! I’ll leave you with some pictures of all the wonderful yarn we have received so far. Just breathe in the wool and savor that color palette.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

My wonderful colleagues, I must apologize for my absence of late. Things around here have been very busy and exciting! I promise it will all be worth it when you see what I have for you on Tuesday. Oh I am so excited I almost want to tell you right now but must wait until everything is ready. So stay tuned. I have not forgotten you.
